Fee Waiver Application
If you applying for further leave to remain on family or private life grounds and you cannot afford to pay the fees for your applications costs, we can help you to apply for a fee waiver. We will guide you through the fee waiver application process, giving you the best chance of ensuring it is accepted by UKVI which will then allow you to apply for further leave to remain with no fees or NHS surcharge payable. A successful fee waiver application will also make you eligible for a free appointment with UKVI to enrol your biometrics. Fee waivers are only available for applications made within the UK and are not available for applications for entry clearance.

Can I apply for a fee waiver if I am working?
Yes, if you are on a low income, you can apply for a fee waiver. We can assist you to prepare your fee waiver and identify clearly to the UKVI what your income and outgoings and confirming what resources you are left with. This will help the UKVI understand your true financial position and make it more likely that a fee waiver will be granted.
When can I apply for a fee waiver?
You need to apply for your fee waiver before your leave expires and before you make your application for an extension of your leave. We would recommend that you start preparing your fee waiver application at least 4 weeks before the expiry of your leave to remain to ensure that it is submitted before your leave to remain expires.
What if my leave expires before my fee waiver has been decided?
Once your fee waiver has been submitted, your leave to remain will be extended automatically and once the fee waiver decision is received you will be advised to make your extension application within a permitted time frame. You must make your application within this time frame to ensure that there are no gaps in your leave, which can affect future applications.
