Registration – A child born in the UK who’s parents are not British Citizens
A guide for non British nationals residing in the UK who are seeking to apply for British Citizenship for their child born in the UK
Requirements
- They were Born in the UK
- They were not British Citizens at birth because at the time neither parent was a British Citizen or Settled
- While they are minors either of the parents has since become a British Citizen, or settled in the UK
- They have lived in the UK for 10 years since the date of birth
- They are under the age of 18 on the date the application is received by the Home Office
- They are of good character if over the age of 10
Evidence
- Signed referee pages with passport photos
- Signed parents consent form
- If parent is settled, parents biometric residence permit
- If parent has been granted citizenship, the parents citizenship certificate
- Birth Certificate for applicant
- Applicant’s passport
- Copy of applicants parents passports
- Correspondence in relation to applicant
- Correspondence to parent as proof of residency
- Parent’s employment information
- Parents Marriage certificate
- Evidence of children’s schooling
